Sentinel by ThierryCravatte Sentinel by ThierryCravatte
As usual, posed and set up in Daz Studio. Materials tweaking, lighting and rendering in Octane Render.
I used only meshlights for lighting. Postwork in Gimp for resizing and signature only.

Thanks for viewing. Have a great time.

Many thanks too for your comments and faves on my previous image.

Excellent use of a very limited range of colours. For some reason, the image looks to me like it's been "taken" on a hot and breathless night, just before a storm breaks overhead...:eyepopping:

You are very welcome. I realise that a blue palette is not often associated with a hot environment, but "Sentinel" just seems to have a charge of energy to it that makes me think of a thunderstorm.

Wonderful job again, TeeCee! I love it! The realism, the lights, the colours, the textures, the models... That babe is not to be messed around with. Looks like she eats Jedi for breakfast!

Another amazing render Thierry, bravo!
I got one question If you don't mind. Why should I or shouldn't I start using third party render engines?

Thank you for your kind comment !

I think that the first reson I decided use a third party rendering engine is that I couldn't achieve the 'realistic' look and feel i had in mind with the native Daz internal renderer (3Delight). A second reason was (but this is true for Octane) the fact that I could use a GPU based renderer, so it's fast (compared to other 'external' renderers). A third reason was that materials (or shaders) are much easy to manipulate in Octane.

If you are happy with the result you can obtain with the internal renderer (3Delight or Firefly), there is obviously no need to use anything else. You have to keep in mind that an extrenal renderer is usually not free and it makes the 'pipeline' more complicated (export/import process).
All this must carefully considered before switching to a third party renderer.

Hope this helps a bit and, if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. ;)
